Touching the net

Is it illegal to touch the net after hitting the bird? I notice this happen maybe 2-3 times during the night, but don't say anything because I'm not sure of the rules. But it was clearly touched, either with the racquet, forearm, or other part of the body.

What is the rule for this scenario?

Any part of the player cannot touch the net during play. The racket may go over the net on the follow through but it cannot touch the net.

Ah, so the racquet can indeed go over the net on the follow through? So only if you hit the birdie I'm guessing then? (I.e. you can't swing your racquet over the net scaring the opponents hehe)

Most friendly matches (not that competitive) tolerates people touching the net. Heh. But of course it's illegal.
